The customer:

Under the slogan: Research, connect and manufacture, the Werner von Siemens Center connects people and organizations, facilitates research, encourages pre-competitive exchange, and supports individuals in the changing world of work through training opportunities. The WvSC represents active collaboration between academia and industry in Siemensstadt, Berlin.

Our job:

  • Strict adherence to the prescribed corporate identity
  • One-on-one workshops as the foundation for the relaunch
  • Bold design of the new website
  • Migration of the old website to WordPress CMS
  • Campus login function via the website
  • Ongoing maintenance of the website

Main focus:

The new website of the Werner von Siemens Center is set to become the flagship and the first point of contact for everyone interested in WvSC’s offerings. A website that consolidates all current events, encourages young people to participate, and deliberately represents a modern startup character with its contemporary corporate identity.

1:1. Workshops

Our one-on-one web design workshops are a popular way to advance a web design project quickly and efficiently. Together with the client, we restructured the menu (sitemap), methodically planned the call-to-action elements, and established a priority guide for further implementation (programming). Thanks to this approach, we were able to complete the conceptual part of the relaunch very swiftly.

From Typo3 to WordPress

Opinions often differ when it comes to choosing the right OpenSource CMS solution. As a web design agency, we regularly use Typo3 and WordPress as content management systems, but generally, we prefer the lean and fast WordPress CMS. This was also the case with this project. The content of the old website was transferred by us on a 1:1 basis into the new WP structure, and subsequently, in the style of the previous workshops, a WordPress CMS workshop was also conducted.

Modern Design

Part of the visual design was provided to us in the form of a corporate manual and had to be subsequently applied to the website. Our focus was, among other things, on designing the web interface to resemble a startup design and ensuring that the UI/UX did not overly resemble traditional research aesthetics. Specifically, the warm color palette on a clean white background and the distinctive logo symbol, which we also used as an animation template, were excellently suited for this purpose.

Ongoing Support Since 2021

Since the launch of the website, we have been managing all aspects related to updates, backups, and are available to answer any questions regarding the website and WordPress CMS (and plugins). Proactive suggestions for the expansion or optimization of the website are also a part of our monthly support for our existing clients.
