The Client:

Käpt’n Browser gGmbH is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Technische Jugendfreizeit- und Bildungsgesellschaft (tjfbg). Today, the company operates 22 daycare centers with around 1,800 places and over 300 employees across Berlin, North Rhine-Westphalia, and Saxony.

Focus:

In fact, there wasn’t a single focus for this project. Rather, it was about a holistic approach that reimagines the website from the ground up, turning it into a digital showcase. All target groups were to feel well supported and engaged—whether parents searching for daycare spots, potential applicants, or existing employees. It wasn’t just a design update; it was a complete realignment of the digital presence.

Design with Heart and Structure

The web design expresses the values and personality of the brand: friendly, approachable, humorous, and at the same time professional. Generous white space, clear typography, and authentic photos build trust and give the brand a modern, likable presence. Illustrative highlights also bring a smile to the viewer’s face and add a playful touch.

Accessibility as a Standard

The website was developed with a clear focus on digital accessibility—including high color contrasts, a logical heading structure, alternative texts, and full keyboard navigation. This ensures that all content is accessible to everyone, regardless of technical or physical abilities.

Employer Brand in Focus

Expanding and enhancing the careers section was a central goal of the relaunch from the very beginning. Potential applicants can now get a comprehensive view of Käpt’n Browser as an employer—with authentic insights into daily work life, values, and benefits. Current job openings are clearly displayed by location, including the option to apply directly.

Structured Location Presentation

Each of the 22 facilities has its own landing page—a dedicated stage—with individual information, educational focuses, contact persons, and authentic insights into daily daycare life. This creates a vibrant overall picture that showcases the diversity and strengths of Käpt’n Browser as an organization. A central daycare enrollment form also makes it easier for parents to get in touch and submit requests.
